Elimu Pepe is an inclusive digital learning platform developed to provide Kenyan learners with affordable, curriculum-aligned content even without data charges. Unlike its sister platform Loho Learning, Elimu Pepe was uniquely integrated with Safaricom’s education bundle and zero-rating infrastructure, enabling students to access the app without consuming mobile data.

Curriculum-Based Library: Content sourced from top publishers, covering subjects across grade levels.
Offline Compatibility: Download-once functionality for books, notes, and assessments.
User Segmentation: Student, teacher, and admin roles with tailored experiences.
Safaricom Bundle Integration: Enabled zero-rated access and smart bandwidth handling for Kenyan users.
Mobile-First Experience: Lightweight React Native mobile app optimized for low-end devices.
My Contribution
Built the MVP independently in under 30 days, implementing frontend, backend, and mobile layers.
Coordinated with Safaricom and education partners to enable zero-rated content delivery.
Developed a smart sync engine that prioritized updates when users had Safaricom network access.
Led QA testing in partnership with early pilot schools.
Delivered v2 with upgraded backend using Golang and PostgreSQL for long-term scalability.
